Autumn Wreath Workshop
22/10/2026 10:00 – 14:00
Shapwick Moor NNR (Somerset)
Members £35 | Non-members £40
Crisp mornings, turning leaves and hedgerows full of berries - it’s shaping up to be a glorious autumn here in Somerset!
We're creating some new experiences on the nature reserve to share the spaces and welcome even more people, including creative workshops, starting with an autumn wreath making day.
Come and join us as we celebrate the season of mellow fruitfulness and make your own autumn wreath. Kate from Forestel will guide you through the design and making process to create a seasonal wreath full of natural texture and colour, using seed heads, berries and other materials gathered from the surrounding hedgerows and land. You can choose to create either a beautiful autumn-themed wreath or a spooky Halloween-inspired wreath.
We’ll also head out onto the reserve to gather a few extra seasonal finds before settling into the making session.
All materials are included, along with some refreshments, and you’ll go home with your own beautiful finished wreath. Feel free to bring along any extra decorations if you’d like to give your wreath a Halloween twist. Handy to bring: secateurs, small wire cutters, gardening gloves and, depending on what you’re wearing, an apron.
Cancellations and refunds:
If you need to cancel your place, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made at least 14 days before the workshop will receive a full refund. For cancellations made within 14 days of the event, we may not be able to offer a refund unless we’re able to fill your place.
If the workshop has to be cancelled by Forestel or the Hawk & Owl Trust, you’ll receive a full refund.
A small practical note:
This is a hands-on outdoor and craft workshop using natural materials, hand tools and occasionally prickly or sharp plant material. We’ll show you how to use everything safely, but participants are responsible for taking reasonable care while working and for letting us know about any relevant allergies, sensitivities or accessibility requirements that we should be aware of beforehand.
